Before You Go

Pre-Departure Planning

Once students have been accepted into their program, the program partners will be the key resource. Program partners will provide information and pre-departure instructions that should be followed carefully. Consult with the program staff if you have any questions at all. They will help students understand the visa process, tell you when to book airline tickets, etc. We are here to help, but the program provider is a student’s first call.

Passports

Students should apply for a passport right away. Students who already have a passport should make certain that it will not expire until at least six months after the end of their program. At least one parent/guardian should also have a valid passport in case of an emergency. Click here for Frequently Asked Questions about Passports and Visas.

Student Visas

Students are responsible for determining whether a visa is required for their program. If one is required, it is up to the student to follow the visa application instructions given to them by the program partner. Students should always consult with program partners about visa requirements. Click here for Frequently Asked Questions about Passports and Visas

Safety Advisories

Denison strongly recommends that all students avail themselves of the travel information available at the U.S. State Department (DoS), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and World Health Organization (WHO). Please read more in the OCS Handbook.
